Tree Partners Plant 55 trees at Merced Youth Sports Complex

Earth Day/Arbor Celebration with local boy scouts, see link for photos from this great event!!
Merced College and the Tree Partners Foundation hosted an Earth/Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday the 24th. Local Cub/Boy Scouts were the official planters with help from Horticulture Students from Merced College. Ten 24" box Oak trees from around the world will be planted for the public to enjoy!! Thank you Calaveras Nursery for the donation of the trees.

Atwater Rotary Lobster Dinner Thanks You

Atwater Rotary Lobster Dinner
On February 6, Atwater Rotary will be holding a 1 1/2 pound lobster dinner. It is being held at the APC Hall in Atwater located at 1420 Third Street. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner is 7 p.m. Proceeds from the dinner go to Youth Programs and the Atwater Tree Partners Foundation.
Tickets are $40.00 a piece and are available by contacting 357-0600.

A small but dedicated group in Atwater called the Tree Partners Foundation is changing the landscape and changing lives. Founded and headed by the enthusiastic Dr. Jim Williamson, the fledgling organization has already formed partnerships with the Merced Irrigation District, Pacific Gas & Electric Company, the National Arbor Day Foundation, Merced College, local school districts and city governments, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, and the Federal Penitentiary at Atwater.

Sept. 12: Atwater Educational Enrichment Foundation's 2nd annual Hawaiian Luau
A big thank you to all supporters of the AEEF's Hawaiian Luau. It went very well.
Atwater Educational Enrichment Foundation's 2nd annual Hawaiian Luau will be held on September 12th at the Atwater Community Center. The time is from 5 to 9 PM. Tickets are $30. We will serve Kailua pork and chicken along with other side dishes. The Merced Polynesian Dancers will provide entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the students of Atwater Elementary School District by providing funding towards 6th grade camp and other activities "beyond the classroom."
2009 Arbor Day & Earth Day Celebration
Forty students and parents came together to celebrate Arbor Day and Earth day on April 4, 2009. Tree Partners gave a demonstration on tree care and how to plant the 35 trees that were being planted that day at the school site. P.G. &E. Forester, Richard Yarnell gave a very informative talk on the "Right Tree, Right Place" and spoke of the many benefits of trees. Dan & Debbie Folkner cooked lunch for everyone. The Food was donated by Sodexo under the direction of Scott Hoyle. Principal, Mr. Bob Ellis welcomed everyone.
